Charitable Tax Provision
Congress has passed a permanent charitable IRA tax provision in December of 2015. This change will permit people who are 70½ years of age and older to donate up to $100,000 to FPC (or another charity) directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts. These distributions will not be treated as taxable income. Depending on your circumstances, this could be an excellent way to fulfill campaign pledges, annual pledges, or to make a special year end gift to the ministries of First Presbyterian Church. Please consult with your tax advisor before making a final decision, but we want you to know that this provision is now permanent.
Coins for Hunger
Between Ash Wednesday and Palm Sunday, each member of our congregation is asked to save coins for each meal they share with their families. This money is collected for Rise Against Hunger to help feed the hungry with 10,000 or 20,000 meals that we assemble ourselves.

DONATING SECURITIES
You may give securities to First Presbyterian Church by transferring the shares directly into our brokerage account. Be sure you or your broker provide your name and address to the First Presbyterian Church, the name and number of securities transferred, and the stock valuation on the date of transfer either by letter to the church (FPC Hampton, 514 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669) or email to: treasurer@firstpreshampton.org.

Your finanical contributions may also be made with a simple secure text message. Send a text to (757) 280-3589 with the amount you would like to contribute. You will receive a confirmation text and a receipt will be updated to include your text gifts.
