Whether you've attended church your whole life or you've never been to church at all, we know it can be intimidating visiting a church for the first time.
Below are frequently asked questions that we hope will give you everything you need to know before you arrive. But if you need more information, please do not hesitate to call: 757-722-0006 Monday - Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Below are the guidelines as they currently stand to insure we can worship safely.
Is there a date when worship in the church will resume?
We do not have a date established to resume in-person worship. Our popular parking lot services will resume when warmer weather returns. Virtual worship services are on YouTube and Facebook; new services are available every Sunday.
Will I be required to wear a mask?
Anyone visiting the church will be asked to wear a mask. Extra masks and sanitizer are available, if needed.
Will any other checks be made?
There will be ushers/greeters at the door with gloves and masks to take your temperature (using a non-contact thermometer) and to guide worshipers to their seats.
How will you ensure six feet of separation is maintained?
Seating in the pews will be marked 6 feet apart unless in a family unit, and every other pew will be blocked off to maintain social distancing.
Where is the church located?
Where do I park?
There is a large parking lot with a covered drop off on Victoria Blvd and street side parking in front of the sanctuary entrance on S. Armistead Ave.
What should I wear?
Our 9:30 service is more casual than the 11:00 service, but please wear whatever you're comfortable in. We welcome coat and tie as well as jeans, t-shirts...you get the idea. Come as you are!
What will happen the first time I visit?
As a guest, we want you to feel welcome. We aren’t going to embarrass you by asking you to stand up during the service or anything like that! You will be greeted as you enter and shown where the sanctuary, bathrooms, classrooms, and nursery are - just ask! Refreshments are available inside at the covered drop off entrance - please make yourself at home!
What is a service like?
The style of worship will be a blend of traditional and contemporary that will resemble our on-line services of the past two months. There will be no hymn singing. Worship will last about 30-40 minutes.
What about my kids?
Normally, our youth and kids participate in programs that they will absolutely love! But when we re-open, kids will remain with their parents in worship. The church has not decided when it will open the nursery nor resume Sunday school programs.
The safety of your kids is our number one priority.
Our volunteers are carefully trained and have passed a comprehensive background check.
